Servair has been acknowledged by Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for its contribution to their corporate program "SAF" (Sustainable Aviation Fuels). This initiative, presented during the summer, aims to achieve several decarbonization goals.

The objectives include a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions per passenger/km by 2030 compared to 2019 levels, a global usage of 10% SAF by 2030, and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Sustainable aviation fuels are seen as a primary tool for reducing carbon emissions in air transport. These fuels, derived from non-fossil sources, can cut CO2 emissions by at least 75% over their lifecycle and are compatible with current aircraft technology.

Air France and KLM have outlined four key actions to meet these targets: replacing 80% of their fleet with new generation aircraft that emit less CO2, using 10% sustainable aviation fuel by 2030, implementing eco-piloting strategies for further decarbonization efforts, and offering travel alternatives with reduced carbon footprints.
