Holland America Line has unveiled a new Alaska itinerary that promises an extended journey to less-visited destinations. The 18-night "Great Bear Rainforest and Alaskan Explorer" voyage will commence on September 16, 2026, from Vancouver, British Columbia.
The itinerary includes stops at small towns like Homer and Valdez in Alaska, which are rarely visited by cruise ships due to their remote locations. Homer is known as the halibut capital of the world, while Valdez is surrounded by mountains. Kodiak Island, famous for its large population of Kodiak bears, is also on the schedule.
An overnight stop in Anchorage is part of the plan, a city seldom included in typical Alaska cruises because of its distance through Cook Inlet. The voyage will be conducted on the Zaandam ship with a capacity of 1,432 passengers.
