Accor, a Paris-based hotel company, has announced plans to develop a new luxury hotel near the pyramids of Giza in Egypt. The Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza is expected to open in late 2027 and will be located close to the Grand Egyptian Museum. This project is being developed in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company.
The new hotel will be part of Accor's Sofitel Legend brand, which includes other historic luxury hotels such as Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo in Panama and Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi, Vietnam. Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery and Emblems at Accor, stated: "We are truly excited to bring the Sofitel Legend brand to the iconic landscape of Giza with this exceptional project." She added that the hotel aims to create a destination that honors Egypt's heritage while marking a milestone for the brand.
Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza will offer 303 rooms and suites, many with views of the pyramids. The property will include a spa and fitness center, infinity pools, and various dining options. Its proximity to the Grand Egyptian Museum is expected to attract history enthusiasts and luxury travelers alike.
