Belmond has announced the introduction of the Britannic Explorer, a luxury sleeper train set to begin operations in England and Wales in July next year. This marks the first such service in these regions. The Britannic Explorer will offer three-night journeys departing from London Victoria Station, covering destinations like Cornwall, the Lake District, and Wales. The routes are scheduled to run from Friday to Monday for Cornwall and the Lake District, while the Wales route will operate from Monday to Thursday.

Gary Franklin, Belmond's vice president of trains and cruises, expressed pride in launching this new venture. "I am incredibly proud to launch this revolutionary new train, which further enhances Belmond's global portfolio of market-leading luxury rail experiences," he stated. He emphasized that the train offers a unique opportunity to explore various British landscapes.

The Britannic Explorer will feature 18 cabins with different levels of accommodation including grand suites and regular suites. Off-train activities include guided tours and excursions such as private dinners at Hauser & Wirth Somerset arts center or hikes through Wales.

Chef Simon Rogan will oversee dining on board, bringing his experience from restaurants that hold eight Michelin stars combined. "For me, true luxury lies in humble ingredients, grown with care," Rogan commented. He aims for each dish to reflect Britain's landscapes and provide passengers with a memorable experience.

Belmond also operates other rail services like the Royal Scotsman in Scotland and the British Pullman day train through England's countryside. Rates for the Britannic Explorer start at 11,000 British pounds ($13,959) per double cabin.
