It's been four years since Disney announced the closure of Splash Mountain at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The decision was made to replace the ride's culturally insensitive themes with a more inclusive story. Originally opened at Disneyland in 1989 and later at Disney World in 1992, Splash Mountain featured music and characters inspired by "Song of the South," a 1946 Disney film known for its racial stereotypes.

Disney revealed plans to retheme the attraction to "The Princess and the Frog," a 2009 animated film featuring Tiana, the first Black Disney princess. Tiana's Bayou Adventure, as it is now called, opened at Disney World on June 28 and has recently become available for visitors at Disneyland as of November 15.

In conjunction with the ride's opening, Disneyland renamed Critter Country to Bayou Country. This area also includes attractions such as The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes, along with a reimagined Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree offering Southern-style dishes.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure follows Tiana as she prepares for a Mardi Gras celebration by assembling musicians. Although the ride features new music and animatronics, its track and vehicles remain unchanged.

To access Tiana's Bayou Adventure during its initial period, guests must use a virtual queue through the Disneyland app at specified times: 7 a.m., noon, and 4 p.m. PST. A park reservation is needed for early morning access without being inside the park, while later queues require presence within either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park with a Park Hopper ticket.

Additionally, guests can opt for Lightning Lane Multi Passes that include this attraction among their selections.

"We're almost there" is an iconic line from "The Princess and the Frog," reflecting that Tiana's Bayou Adventure is now open at Disneyland.
