Capital One is set to unveil its latest airport lounge, the Capital One Landing, at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Washington, D.C. The new lounge concept has been kept under wraps, sparking curiosity among travelers and cardholders about what to expect.

The lounge is a two-part setup that differs from traditional lounges. It includes a conventional lounge area with food and drinks and a separate grab-and-go coffee shop called On the Fly. "Capital One's experiences team was clear that it was created specifically with the DCA traveler in mind," according to reports.

Unlike other lounges, guests will be assigned tables upon check-in. Access policies are more restrictive compared to other Capital One Lounges. The grab-and-go section will be open to all travelers but will not offer free items regardless of card ownership.

Located in Terminal 2 near Concourse D, the lounge offers complimentary access for certain Capital One cardholders and their guests. Additional guests or those with different cards can enter for a fee.

With a capacity of over 90 guests, reservations can be made up to six months in advance due to potential occupancy issues. Walk-ins are allowed if space permits.

José Andrés has partnered with Capital One for this venture, marking his first involvement in airport dining. His group played an integral role in planning the menu and decor of the lounge.

The beverage menu was designed by mixologists from the José Andrés Group, offering craft cocktails inspired by Spain and nonalcoholic options.

On the Fly offers quick-service options such as premade sandwiches and snacks. While open to all travelers, prices may deter some unless they hold specific Capital One cards which offer discounts.

Capital One plans to open another Landing at New York's LaGuardia Airport in late 2025. Other traditional lounges are expected at Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport next year.
