Cape Verde has been added to easyJet's network as the airline begins offering flights from London Gatwick Airport to Sal, Cape Verde's busiest airport. This new route will commence in March 2025 and is expected to operate year-round due to its popularity as a winter beach destination.

easyJet first introduced Cape Verde to its network in October 2024 with flights from Lisbon and Porto. The new service from the UK is scheduled to begin on March 31, 2025, coinciding with the switch to summer schedules by northern airlines. The route will operate three times weekly using an Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The flight schedule for this route includes a departure from London Gatwick at 10:00 AM, arriving in Sal at 2:10 PM local time. The return flight leaves Sal at 3:05 PM and arrives back in London Gatwick at 10:55 PM local time.

easyJet holidays are expected to play a significant role in attracting visitors interested in Cape Verde's beaches, sun, snorkeling opportunities, and natural beauty. Cirium Diio data indicates that easyJet will be the fourth carrier offering flights between the UK and Cape Verde since the first such services began in 2007.

Currently, TUI offers flights from various UK cities including Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Glasgow, London Gatwick, Manchester, and Newcastle to Sal and Boa Vista.

easyJet's average stage length across all routes scheduled between January and September 2025 is approximately 674 nautical miles (1,248 km). However, the new London Gatwick-Sal route will be among its longest at 2,332 nautical miles (4,319 km), making it the airline’s fourth-longest service overall.

In addition to this new connection with Cape Verde, easyJet has announced several other long routes starting in early 2025. These include Liverpool-Sharm el Sheikh beginning February 14th and Manchester-Larnaca starting June 25th.
