Allegiant Air has announced a significant expansion, adding 44 new routes in what marks one of its largest expansions to date. The airline's new routes include three airports that are rejoining its network: Colorado Springs, Columbia, and Gulf Shores. Notably, Allegiant will be the only airline offering scheduled passenger service at Gulf Shores.

The new services largely follow Allegiant's typical pattern with 42 routes operating twice weekly and two on a weekly basis. "Given Allegiant's network approach of seeking out thin, unserved leisure markets, it is hardly surprising that 37 of the 44 routes (84%) will have no airline operating when Allegiant begins them," the airline stated.

The first batch of 22 routes includes destinations such as Colorado Springs to Tampa St Pete and Boston to Des Moines. Other notable connections include Chattanooga to Punta Gorda and Columbia to Fort Lauderdale. These additions are part of Allegiant's strategy to connect underserved markets with popular destinations.

Further expansions involve connections like Phoenix Sky Harbor to Pittsburgh and Myrtle Beach to Grand Rapids. These new links also reflect Allegiant’s focus on leisure travel markets that are currently underrepresented by other carriers.

In total, seven of the newly announced routes were previously served by Allegiant itself until recently, while more than half—24 routes—have never had scheduled flights before.

Allegiant also shared that it would not receive any additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 deliveries this year but expects more aircraft next year.
