Delta Air Lines has announced a collaboration with Shake Shack to offer cheeseburgers to first-class passengers on flights departing from Boston Logan International Airport. This partnership, described by Delta as a "first-of-its-kind," will allow passengers to preselect a Shake Shack cheeseburger as their meal option on domestic flights over 900 miles starting December 1.

Stephanie Laster, Delta's managing director of onboard service, expressed enthusiasm for the new offering, stating, "A delicious cheeseburger is an iconic comfort food — our customers know that which is why burgers are one of the top ordered menu items we offer, and we're thrilled to elevate the offering with Shake Shack."

Passengers can use Delta's mobile app or website to select their meal up to 24 hours before departure. The burger will be accompanied by optional toppings such as tomato, lettuce, and "Shack Sauce," served on the side along with chips, a Caesar salad, and a dark chocolate brownie.

This initiative is part of Delta's strategy to incorporate recognizable dining brands into its services. While JetBlue has partnered with New York City-based eatery Dig for its transatlantic coach meal service and other partners for its Mint cabin, Delta's new partnership marks a notable step in inflight catering.

Shake Shack fans may find this development welcome news after the restaurant chain was removed from the list of establishments eligible for a $10 monthly statement credit on the American Express® Gold Card.
