Long Beach Airport is preparing for an increase in passenger traffic during Thanksgiving week. The airport anticipates around 130,000 travelers between November 22 and December 1, reflecting an 8% rise from the previous year. Mayor Rex Richardson emphasized the airport's commitment to providing a comfortable travel experience, stating, "Whether you're reuniting with loved ones or setting off on a seasonal adventure, Long Beach Airport is committed to offering comfort and convenience, making your journey as enjoyable as the destination itself."

The busiest day is expected to be December 1 with over 16,000 travelers. November 26 and November 27 are also anticipated to be peak days with more than 15,000 passengers each day. Cynthia Guidry, Director of Long Beach Airport, highlighted the airport's appeal during this busy period: "Long Beach Airport’s easygoing atmosphere makes us very attractive during the holiday rush." She added that despite high passenger numbers, the airport will maintain a calm environment with ample parking and amenities.

In light of increased traffic, LGB will pause its Terminal Roadway Improvements construction project to keep all lanes open. Travelers are encouraged to arrive early and follow tips provided by LGB for a smooth experience. These include arriving at least 90 minutes before flights and using designated waiting areas for pick-ups.
