Turkish Airlines is planning a significant increase in its flights from Istanbul to the United States for the summer of 2025. The airline aims to operate 170 weekly one-way passenger flights, marking an increase from 160 weekly flights during the summer of 2024. This expansion includes record flight frequencies to Chicago and Los Angeles.

Los Angeles has seen an increase in flights to a record 17 weekly, a frequency that will also be matched by Chicago O'Hare. Turkish Airlines has been serving Chicago since 1997, with previous records showing double daily services. "The latest information shows it will be 17 weekly from July 2025 until at least October 25," according to Aeroroutes.

The new schedule for Istanbul-Chicago includes three daily flights with different aircraft types: the Boeing 787-9 and the Boeing 777-300ER. Similarly, Los Angeles will receive increased service starting in July 2025, moving beyond its previous double daily service limit.

Turkish Airlines' expansion also affects Denver, which joined their network in June 2024. Despite initial A350 delivery delays, Denver is set to become a daily destination by June 2025.

In addition to increasing flight frequencies, Turkish Airlines is due to receive three more Boeing 787-9s in 2025. These changes are part of broader efforts by the airline to enhance its US-bound operations amid growing demand for travel between Turkey and the United States.

More than three-quarters of passengers on these routes connect through Istanbul to other destinations. Popular onward destinations include Athens, Tehran, Cairo, Mumbai, and Delhi.

Turkish Airlines continues expanding its presence in the US market with plans for new routes expected next year.
