United Airlines is enhancing its flight schedule to European destinations this holiday season, focusing on trips to popular Christmas Markets. This initiative aims to cater to the increasing demand for travel experiences over material gifts, as indicated by Deloitte's research showing a 16% rise in spending on experiences.

Darren Scott, United's Director of Atlantic and Hawaii Planning, stated: "The European Christmas markets have become even more popular in recent years and no airline makes it easier than United to get away and visit for the holidays." The airline offers convenient nonstop flights and connections to over 130 European cities.

For November and December, United plans nearly 60 nonstop flights daily from the US to Europe. Cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Edinburgh, Zurich, Amsterdam, Brussels, London, and Paris are among the destinations with direct flights. Notably, London Heathrow Airport receives 17 nonstop flights per day from various US hubs.

United Airlines collaborates with Star Alliance partners in the Lufthansa Group and Deutsche Bahn rail operator. This partnership allows passengers to book onward travel across Europe seamlessly. Travelers can explore historic markets like Dresden's Striezelmarkt or Vienna's renowned market before returning home with ease.

Overall bookings for United's European destinations have increased by nearly 10% year over year and almost 30% compared to 2019. The airline anticipates carrying around 25 million passengers during the holiday period in 2024.
