Royal Jordanian Airlines is set to launch a new nonstop service connecting Amman and Washington, D.C., starting March 23, 2025. The airline will operate flights twice weekly on Tuesdays and Sundays using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner configured for 270 passengers in business and economy class. This marks Royal Jordanian's first nonstop connection between the two capitals.

Dina Kawar, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United States, described the new route as "a bridge across worlds that will allow travelers to feel the pulse of Jordan's rich tapestry, its ancient landscapes, its modern rhythms, and its fierce embrace of both heritage and future." She added that "this flight will be a seamless journey into a place that exists both outside of time and firmly in the now."

The service schedule has Flight RJ 0282 departing from Amman at 11:25 AM and arriving in Washington Dulles at 5:45 PM. The return flight, RJ 0283, leaves Washington Dulles at 8:50 PM and arrives back in Amman at 3:32 PM.

Royal Jordanian CEO Samer Majali expressed enthusiasm for the new link as part of the airline's global expansion strategy. He stated, "Our upcoming first flight between the two capitals, Washington, D.C., and Amman, marks a significant milestone in RJ's global expansion strategy." He emphasized that this connection aims to "stimulate tourism, trade and investment opportunities" while providing "seamless connectivity to the Gulf, Levant and North Africa."

Chryssa Westerlund from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority welcomed Royal Jordanian Airlines to Washington Dulles International Airport. She noted that "Royal Jordanian’s new nonstop service to Amman will deepen ties between our two capitals," highlighting its importance for government, business, and tourism connections between Washington D.C. and the Middle East.

This year has seen several international airlines announce routes to Washington Dulles. Lufthansa Group Carrier SWISS began flights to Zurich in April; Aeromexico launched flights to Mexico City over the summer; United Airlines expanded with long-haul links including Dakar Blaise Diagne International Airport in Senegal.
