This year's aviation conference at Emirates Aviation University centered on the theme of "Aviation Trends: Advancements, Regulations, and Sustainability." Over 300 researchers and specialists from various aviation entities, regulatory bodies, academia, and leading universities attended to discuss the industry's evolution and its adaptation to current challenges.

Professor Dr. Ahmad Al Ali, Vice Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University, delivered the opening address. He remarked: “Fuelled by demand, advances in sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology, our industry is on the brink of rapid transformation. By uniting leaders and scholars under one roof, we aim to showcase aviation’s boldest and most imaginative ideas. We’re thrilled to be able to host this conference for the fifth year and look forward to growing, evolving, and continuing it for many years to come.”

Keynote speakers included Colonel Engineer Marwan Mohammad Singel from Dubai Police's Civil Aviation Security Centre; Mohamed Abubaker Farea from ICAO Middle East; Kashif Khalid from IATA Africa and the Middle East; Professor Paul D. Williams from the University of Reading; and Professor Bijan Vasigh from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

From Emirates Group, senior executives such as Steve Allen of dnata; Oliver Grohmann in Human Resources; John Walker in Base Maintenance; Kieran Dowd in Sourcing Solutions also participated as keynote speakers.

Discussions covered airline operations management, air traffic innovations, AI applications in aviation, safety measures, among others. Presentations proposed strategies like achieving zero waste by 2030 while addressing climate change impacts on flight routes. The IAMC highlighted HR technological transformations with AI tools improving recruitment processes.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) projects that industry revenues will reach US$996 billion in 2024. The conference emphasized successful collaboration between academia and industry within Emirates Aviation University.
