WestJet is set to resume its service between Halifax and Paris for the first time since 2022. The Canadian airline will operate four weekly flights during the summer season of 2025. Additionally, WestJet plans to start flying to Dublin and Edinburgh a month earlier than last year, with services commencing in mid-May.

The airline announced its schedule for summer 2025, which includes reinstating the direct route between Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Flights will run from May 16th until October 25th using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, providing up to 5,916 monthly seats in both directions.

Andy Gibbons, Vice-President of External Affairs at WestJet, remarked, "Today's announcement in Halifax underscores our ongoing commitment to Nova Scotia and our incredible airport partners as we building the city's leisure network with seamless seasonal connectivity to and from Europe."

In addition to the Halifax-Paris route, WestJet's transatlantic summer schedule will include destinations such as Dublin (DUB), Edinburgh (EDI), and London Gatwick (LGW). The Dublin and Edinburgh routes are scheduled to launch in mid-May, while the London service will begin at the end of April. Passengers on these routes can opt for upgrades to WestJet's Premium front cabin.

WestJet has also expanded its codeshare partnership with Air France. This agreement now covers an additional 31 cities across 11 European countries, allowing passengers more connection options throughout Europe.

Patrick Sullivan, President & CEO of Halifax Chamber of Commerce, stated, "Increasing flights to and from Nova Scotia is good for businesses in Halifax and across the province. Local businesses are excited about WestJet adding additional capacity to bring visitors to Halifax from European capitals and from Western Canada to spend their tourism dollars in our province."

For summer 2025, WestJet plans significant growth by adding 11 new routes and increasing seat capacity by 10% compared to previous years. At its peak operation during this period, the airline aims to conduct over 3,000 weekly flights.

Since its inception nearly three decades ago, WestJet has grown its fleet to over 180 aircraft servicing more than 100 destinations across 26 countries. While primarily operating Boeing 737s throughout its history, it also includes seven Boeing 787 Dreamliners introduced in early 2019.
