Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced the winner of the 2024 FedEx Global Possibilities Award during INJAZ Al-Arab's annual Youth Entrepreneurship Celebration. The event, which took place from November 18 to 20 in Dubai, UAE, gathered students from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to present innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
The celebration included a seminar hosted by FedEx team members, focusing on the importance of international market access for businesses and aligning business objectives with broader purposes. Participants were introduced to the FedEx Global Possibilities Award, which honors student businesses that demonstrate innovation, cross-border operations, job creation, and environmental sustainability.
This year's award went to '3a balata Inc.', a company founded by high school students in Palestine. Their product, piezoelectric tiles that convert mechanical energy from footsteps into electricity, aims to become a major player in sustainable energy manufacturing. "Congratulations to all the students who participated and to the ‘3a balata’ team for their exceptional achievement," said Nitin Tatiwala, vice president of Marketing and Air Network for FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
