British Airways is preparing for a busy festive season, with its top ten busiest international routes in December all originating from London Heathrow Airport. Data from aviation analytics company Cirium highlights that the most frequented route is to Geneva Airport in Switzerland, scheduled for 268 flights and offering 45,983 seats. Following closely is the short journey to Amsterdam, with 253 flights and 42,845 seats.
The transatlantic route to New York-JFK ranks third by flight count with 238 but leads in passenger capacity at 58,828 seats. This route has historical significance as one of the busiest intercontinental routes and was previously served by Concorde. Future supersonic travel could potentially revive this connection.
Barcelona's Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport complete the top five routes, featuring 231 and 230 flights respectively.
