The Embraer Phenom 300 has established itself as a leading light business jet, maintaining its position as the best-selling model in its category for over a decade. Since its introduction in 2009, and with nearly 800 units delivered, it has become the most flown private jet in the United States, surpassing the Cessna Citation Excel according to Bloomberg's analysis.

Initially launched as an upgraded version of the Phenom 100, the Phenom 300 was introduced with a new design that included significant changes. These enhancements comprise new engines (Pratt & Whitney Canada PW525E), spoilers, winglets, and a movable horizontal stabilizer. The cabin size was also increased to accommodate up to ten passengers, although six to eight is more common.

"The luxury lifestyle publication Robb Report summarizes this well in its analysis of the aircraft, saying: 'It’s easy to see why the Phenom 300 is experiencing a surge in popularity. The mid-size jet may be smaller than the Citation Excel—it only has room for nine passengers instead of 10—but it burns less fuel, has better speed and range and, perhaps most importantly of all, costs one-third less.'"

Embraer introduced further upgrades with the Phenom 300E variant in 2018. This model offers several interior design options including the award-winning Bossa Nova cabin design which won recognition at the International Yacht & Aviation Award in 2020.

"The updated Phenom 300E has several cabin designs available. One of these - the Bossa Nova option - won the International Yacht & Aviation Award in the small/medium jet design category in 2020."

The aircraft is also noted for being rated for single-pilot operations under Part 91 or Part 135 regulations. This capability reduces operating costs while increasing capacity by allowing an additional passenger seat.

"Operating with one pilot reduces cost and increases capacity."

The avionics system plays a crucial role in supporting single-pilot operations. The Garmin G3000 Flight Management System minimizes pilot workload through intuitive controls. Recent updates have kept the Phenom 300 competitive within modern avionics standards.

"Avionics features available on the latest models include: Predictive wind shear awareness... Synthetic Vision System (SVS)... Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS II)... Emergency descent mode... Runway overrun awareness... Autothrottle feature."

Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535 turbofan engines, the Phenom 300 achieves speeds up to Mach 0.80 with a maximum speed of 464 knots (534 miles per hour) and a typical cruise speed of 453 knots (521 miles per hour). Its range extends approximately to 2,010 nautical miles (2,723 kilometers).

"This package of capacity, speed, and range has proved very popular with owners and operators."
