American Champion Aircraft, based in Rochester, Wisconsin, is a private company known for producing FAA-certified light acrobatic and utility aircraft. These aircraft serve various purposes such as pleasure, work, training, and excitement. The company's designs have maintained stability and comfort for over 50 years.

The company manufactures three series of aircraft: the Decathlon, Scout, and Citabria. These are affordable two-seat tandem tail-draggers in their class. The Model 7 Champion or "Champ," also called "Air Knocker," is a single-engine light airplane intended for flight training and personal use.

"The Champ is among the most popular and longest-produced light airplane models globally," states an overview of its production history by Aeronca, Champion Aircraft, Bellanca, and American Champion Aircraft since 1945.

It features a Lycoming AEIO-390-A1B6 engine with 210 horsepower at 2500 RPM. Another model offered by ACA is the Scout which was initially introduced in 1974 to compete in the light utility market against models like the PA-18 Super Cub. The Scout has undergone significant changes including a metal spar certification similar to other ACA products like the Decathlon.

The Citabria Aurora continues this tradition of versatile aircraft design with its modern avionics yet classic tailwheel configuration while offering aerobatic capabilities spelled backward as AIRBATIC.
