Fiji Airways has expanded its operations in the United States, offering four direct routes from Nadi International Airport to major U.S. cities as of December 2024. The airline now connects Fiji with Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Dallas/Fort Worth.
"Fiji Airways, formerly Air Pacific, has a long history of connecting Fiji with the United States," reflecting on its initial venture into the U.S. market in 1983 with flights to Honolulu under "Project America." This marked their first transpacific service.
Following success in Honolulu, services extended to Los Angeles facilitated by acquiring widebody aircraft like Boeing 747s and McDonnell Douglas DC-10s. This enabled efficient long-haul operations. Over the years, Fiji Airways continued enhancing its fleet and services with modern aircraft such as Airbus A330 and A350.
