Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced the appointment of Michael Weinmann as its new Head of Media Relations. Weinmann, a seasoned journalist and aviation specialist, will assume his role on March 1, 2025. He succeeds Karin Montani, who is departing SWISS after 15 years to explore new professional opportunities.

Weinmann brings a wealth of experience in journalism and aviation to his new position. His career includes reporting on various aviation topics such as technological advancements, the introduction of new aircraft types, air traffic management, and sustainability efforts within the industry. Additionally, he holds a private pilot's license, offering him practical flying experience alongside his theoretical knowledge.

His journalistic journey began in 2009 when he joined Swiss Radio & Television (SRF) as a presenter for 'Schweiz aktuell' TV news. He also served as an editor in SRF’s home affairs department and contributed extensively to aviation-related reports. Weinmann is 43 years old, married, and has two children.
