Passengers planning to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday are advised to arrive at airports well ahead of their scheduled departure times. For domestic flights, arriving 90 minutes to two hours early is recommended, while international travelers should plan for a three-hour lead time. This allows ample time for parking, luggage check-in, and security screening.

Construction projects under the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) are ongoing at John Wayne Airport. These improvements aim to enhance infrastructure, parking facilities, and terminal amenities. Travelers should allocate extra time as some roadways and terminal areas may be affected by construction activities. Updates on these impacts can be found at www.ocair.com/CIP.

For those driving to the airport, curbside valet parking is available from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Parking Structures A1, A2, B2, and C offer rates of $2 per hour up to $20 daily. Real-time parking availability can be checked online or by calling 949-252-5200. Electric vehicle charging stations are available in specified locations within these structures.

Off-airport parking is offered around the clock at 1512 Main Street in Irvine for $2 per hour or $14 daily. Complimentary shuttles operate every 15 minutes between this location and the Riley Terminal from early morning until midnight.

Travelers should familiarize themselves with TSA regulations such as the 3-1-1 Liquids Rule for carry-on bags. "If you can spill it, spread it, pump it or pour it," it's considered a liquid by TSA standards." More tips are accessible through TSA resources online.

For passenger pick-up and drop-off, a cell phone waiting lot is available near Parking Structure C where drivers can temporarily park for free until passengers are ready for collection.

Ride app services like Uber and Lyft have designated pick-up spots on the Departure Level across from the Riley Terminal in specific parking structures.
