Chase Travel has introduced a new feature for its premium cardholders, allowing them to earn hotel points and elite benefits when booking through The Edit. This enhancement applies to certain Chase cards and properties, providing an opportunity for cardholders to maximize their rewards.

"The Chase Travel℠ platform for premium cardholders, The Edit, now allows you to earn hotel points and elite benefits in addition to earning Chase Ultimate Rewards points," the announcement states. However, this feature is not available to all Chase cardholders; those with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card do not have access to The Edit.

Booking hotels via The Edit offers elitelike benefits such as complimentary breakfast, room upgrades, late checkout, and up-to-$100 property credit. Previously, using Chase Travel or The Edit did not allow users to earn hotel points or qualifying night credits toward elite status within a hotel's loyalty program. This situation appears to be changing as select properties are now offering these rewards.

"We've seen examples of this at several popular hotel brands, including Accor, Hyatt, IHG and Marriott," according to the release. When searching for hotels on Chase Travel, banners indicating eligibility for programs like "Marriott Bonvoy" or "IHG One Rewards" will guide users.

While there is no current filter option for rewards-eligible hotels in search results, most are available on The Edit. Additionally, users can earn hotel rewards regardless of whether they pay with cash or redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points by entering their hotel loyalty number during booking.

The new feature also extends elite status benefits when booking through Chase Travel. Historically unavailable when booking via the platform, these perks are now accessible at certain hotels. "Now you can not only earn your way to status with certain hotels on Chase Travel but also access any elite benefits you have with that hotel."

The availability of properties varies depending on which card a user holds. Those without access to The Edit may still find some rewards-eligible properties but will miss out on larger names like Hyatt or Marriott unless they hold the appropriate card.

For United cardholders using The Edit's elitelike perks through the Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection website, earning hotel rewards remains limited at many properties.

Ultimately, this development enhances the value proposition of booking through Chase Travel by combining bonus Ultimate Rewards points with potential earnings from favorite loyalty programs alongside existing promotions.
