Low-cost airline easyJet has announced an expansion of its pilot training facilities in collaboration with CAE, a leader in flight simulation and training. The new development will see the addition of two full-flight simulators at CAE London Gatwick and one at CAE Milan, alongside the commencement of pilot training at CAE Amsterdam. This move is part of easyJet's strategy to support its growth plans across Europe.

David Morgan, Chief Operating Officer at easyJet, emphasized the importance of this expansion for the airline's growth. "By continuing to utilise advanced technologies, we are ensuring our thousands of pilots across Europe are trained to the global industry leading standards we are recognised for," he stated.

The partnership between easyJet and CAE aims to address the demand for trained pilots as airlines face shortages due to increased aircraft orders. The expanded facilities will help meet the annual training needs for over 7,000 easyJet pilots. Michel Azar-Hmouda, President of Commercial Aviation at CAE, expressed enthusiasm about extending their partnership with easyJet: "Through our state-of-the-art training facilities and tailored training solutions, we're shaping the future of aviation training while reaffirming our commitment to innovation, safety and operational excellence."

easyJet plans further growth in Italy with new bases anticipated at Milan Linate Airport and Rome, pending European Commission approval. Additionally, a new base is set to open at London Southend Airport next spring.

The enhanced simulator capacity strengthens easyJet's reputation in pilot training through its partnership with CAE. This collaboration provides access to 19 flight simulators across three countries.
