Piper Aircraft, Inc., a longstanding name in private aircraft manufacturing since 1937, has introduced its latest model, the M700 Fury. This new turboprop aircraft is designed for business aviation and boasts a maximum cruise speed of 301 knots, making it Piper's second-fastest aircraft to date.

Muncie Aviation describes the M700 Fury as having "a max cruise speed of over 300 knots and a 30% increase in climb performance compared to its predecessor." The aircraft features advanced technology such as Garmin Autoland and Autothrottle, alongside a finely appointed interior for six passengers.

The M700 Fury is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-52A engine with 700 shaft horsepower. It offers an operational range of 1,852 nautical miles, which positions it as a desirable option for long-distance travel. Representative routes include Fort Lauderdale to Midland at 1,206 nautical miles and London to Calabria at 1,030 nautical miles.

The new model falls into Piper's business category along with the M500 and M350 models. Priced at $4.1 million, the M700 includes an upgraded Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-52 engine and five-blade composite Hartzell propeller—features that were optional on previous models like the M600.

Advanced avionics are central to the M700 Fury's design. The Garmin G3000 suite provides high-definition displays and superior navigation tools. Safety systems include Garmin Emergency Autoland and PlaneSync Technology for autonomous landing in case of pilot incapacitation.

According to Piper Aircraft, "This fully autonomous landing system can be activated manually or automatically if the system senses pilot incapacitation." Once landed safely, "the braking system will activate...and passengers are instructed on how to safely exit."

Piper claims that the M700 Fury offers significant operational savings compared to similar market options with costs estimated at $910 per hour based on annual usage of 400 hours. The aircraft also promises greater time efficiency being faster than any previous M-Class designs by approximately 11%.

The Piper M700 Fury continues its journey towards certification after recently receiving approval for operations on unpaved runways.
