Flights to and from Bali are experiencing significant disruptions due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki volcano. Jetstar, Virgin, and Qantas have canceled services, affecting thousands of travelers whose plans have been impacted.

Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for updates on the situation, which remains fluid as ash clouds shift with changing winds.

The volcano erupted last Friday, releasing towering columns of ash into the sky. The eruption resulted in nine fatalities and numerous injuries. Since Monday's initial eruption, volcanic activity has increased on Flores island in East Nusa Tenggara province. This has prompted authorities to expand the danger zone around the volcano.

Hadi Wijaya, head of the Centre for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation, stated at a news conference that recent activity produced a column of ash 10 kilometers high. According to Channel 9, Wijaya noted that authorities expanded the danger zone on Thursday to an eight-kilometer radius northwest and southwest of the mountain slope as hot ash clouds "are currently spreading in all directions."
