American Express has announced a limited-time offer for its Membership Rewards cardholders, providing a 40% bonus when transferring points to Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club. This promotion is available until December 31, 2024, and allows cardholders to receive 1,400 Virgin points for every 1,000 Membership Rewards points transferred.

The transfer bonus can be utilized by holders of several American Express cards, including The Platinum Card from American Express and the American Express Gold Card. This opportunity aligns with Virgin Atlantic's recent introduction of Saver reward seats, offering flights from New York to London starting at just 6,000 Virgin points plus taxes and fees.

Virgin Atlantic is part of the SkyTeam alliance, allowing point redemption across various airlines such as Delta Air Lines and Air France. Additionally, Virgin offers premium options like their Upper Class cabin with amenities including lie-flat beds and gourmet dining.

For those interested in exploring beyond air travel, the promotion also allows for point redemption on Virgin Voyages cruises and stays at Virgin Hotels across multiple cities. However, potential participants should note that transfers are irreversible and subject to availability.

"Until Dec. 31, 2024, eligible American Express card members will receive a 40% bonus when transferring Membership Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club program," stated an announcement regarding the offer.

Cardholders must enroll in the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club to take advantage of this offer. It is advised to verify flight availability before transferring points as airline tickets are subject to demand-based pricing changes.
