Delta Air Lines has introduced a policy aimed at ensuring efficient baggage handling for its passengers. Known as the "Bags on Time" policy, this initiative underscores Delta's commitment to providing reliable and efficient services. According to the airline, if a checked bag does not arrive at the carousel within 20 minutes after any domestic flight, passengers are eligible to receive 2,500 bonus miles.

To claim these bonus miles, passengers must visit the Delta Air Lines website and fill out a form that requires personal identification information, SkyMiles numbers, flight numbers, and travel dates. This form needs to be submitted within three days of the flight's arrival. Delta emphasizes that only active SkyMiles members at the time of travel can benefit from this promotion. Additionally, requests for bonus miles must be submitted separately for different flights.

The airline cautions against submitting forms before aircraft arrival and notes that it may take up to two weeks for bonus miles to appear in accounts. The offer is limited to domestic flights within the United States and Puerto Rico operated by Delta Air Lines and its affiliates.

There are conditions outlined in the fine print: itineraries with codeshare flights qualify only if the last leg is a domestic service operated by Delta or its affiliates. Passengers can make one claim per itinerary (including round trips), with baggage delivery time measured from when an aircraft's door opens until the first bag arrives at the claim belt.

Oversized baggage and specialty items such as skis or golf clubs are excluded from this promotion. Furthermore, Delta reserves the right to deny claims if they do not meet certain standards.

This program aims to improve customer satisfaction by providing compensation when delays occur while incentivizing efficient baggage delivery practices.
