Health officials in Los Angeles County have confirmed a case of measles linked to a passenger who traveled on Qatar Airways flight QR739 from Doha to Los Angeles on November 27. The passenger arrived at Terminal B, Gate 155, and is believed to have been infectious while passing through the airport.
Travelers who were present in Terminal B between 12:30 and 18:00 on that day are considered at higher risk of contracting measles. The Centre for Disease Control will notify passengers seated near the infected individual on the flight. Those unvaccinated are particularly vulnerable within seven to 21 days following exposure.
The Los Angeles County Health Authority has issued guidelines for those potentially exposed. Individuals should review their vaccination records, consult healthcare providers if unvaccinated or at risk, and monitor for symptoms such as fever or rash within three weeks of exposure. Pregnant women, infants, and those with weakened immune systems should seek medical advice regardless of vaccination status.
