Hyatt introduces online redemption for suite and club upgrade awards

World of Hyatt members now have the option to apply suite upgrade awards and club access award certificates to new bookings online or through the Hyatt app. This development aims to provide greater convenience for high-tier elite members, who previously had to make phone calls to utilize these benefits.

Members looking to add these certificates can do so by visiting hyatt.com and locating the "Eligible Awards" buttons in the search results. These buttons facilitate the application of suite upgrade awards or club access awards during the booking process.

According to a spokesperson, "Applying either award will show the upgraded room with the award applied for the original price, whether you are paying in cash or World of Hyatt points." If an award is unavailable for selected dates, its button will appear grayed out. Not all brands offer club rooms, and standard suites may be fully booked on preferred dates.

The new system clarifies which room types are eligible for upgrades. However, it remains impossible to combine multiple awards on a single stay. Members cannot add a suite upgrade or club access award to existing reservations online, necessitating a call to Hyatt for manual adjustments.

The World of Hyatt program is recognized for its generous upgrade policies for elite members. Suite upgrade awards allow confirmed upgrades to standard suites up to seven consecutive nights, subject to availability. Globalist members earn two suite upgrade awards after reaching 60 elite-qualifying nights or 100,000 base points annually and can earn more through Milestone Rewards at specific thresholds.

Club access awards grant lounge access where available, including continental breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres daily. These are also part of Milestone Rewards at various qualifying levels.

World of Hyatt continues enhancing member loyalty benefits beyond top-tier status levels with perks awarded based on additional elite nights or points earned between status levels. The recent introduction of online redemption for suite upgrades and club access represents another step forward in providing convenience and flexibility for frequent guests.
