Emirates has announced plans to introduce a third nonstop service between Dubai and Melbourne, set to commence on March 30, 2025. This new service will utilize a newly retrofitted four-class Boeing 777-300ER, featuring Emirates' new Premium Economy product and the latest business class seats.

Currently, Emirates operates two daily nonstop flights between Melbourne and Dubai using Airbus A380s. Additionally, there is a third daily service connecting the cities via Singapore with a Boeing 777-300ER. The Singapore route will be discontinued on March 30, 2025, as Emirates transitions to the direct Dubai-Melbourne route.

The refurbished Boeing 777-300ER will operate flights EK404/405. Flight EK404 is scheduled to depart from Dubai International at 21:15 and arrive in Melbourne at 17:40 the following day. The return flight EK405 will leave Melbourne at 23:55 and reach Dubai at 07:00 the next day.

With this change, all three daily services between Dubai and Melbourne will offer passengers first, business, premium economy or economy travel options. Emirates aims to meet growing demand for its Premium Economy cabins by providing more than 3,400 weekly premium economy seats across Melbourne and Sydney.

The airline's Premium Economy cabins have been recognized as 'Best in Class' at the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific awards in 2024. Features include cream leather seats with adjustable headrests that are 19.5 inches wide with an eight-inch recline.

In addition to expanding its services in Melbourne, Emirates has restored its Australian capacity to pre-COVID levels. It resumed its second Perth service this month and reinstated Adelaide services on October 28. Together with Qantas through their codeshare partnership, they offer access to over 120 destinations globally.
