Hertz Gold Plus Rewards has introduced a new promotion allowing elite members to extend their status benefits to two friends or family members. The offer is available until December 31, 2024. Members can complete the process through a form on Hertz's website by providing necessary details for themselves and their chosen recipients.

Recipients will enjoy the same elite status as the giver from January 13 to December 31, 2025. Post this period, they must meet standard requirements to retain their status. There are no apparent restrictions on who can gift status, even if it's obtained via an airline partnership or credit card.

The benefits of Hertz's elite tiers include wider vehicle selections and complimentary upgrades. Five Star members earn 25% more points per dollar spent, while President's Circle members earn 50% more. Typically, reaching these statuses requires specific rental numbers or spending thresholds.

Credit cards like Capital One Venture Rewards and American Express Platinum offer automatic Hertz elite status to cardholders. Additionally, Delta SkyMiles Medallion members receive similar benefits based on their tier.

For those with existing car rental agency statuses, Hertz offers a status match option through its website.
