Michael Rousseau, the President and CEO of Air Canada, has been appointed as the Chairperson of Star Alliance, succeeding United CEO Scott Kirby. As he assumes his new role, Rousseau expressed his enthusiasm for working with the board over the next two years to advance seamless customer experiences. "At Star Alliance, we are committed to the vision of an effortlessly connected world, and I invite every member of our Alliance to join me in making this vision a reality in 2025 and beyond," said Rousseau.

In his capacity as CEB Chairperson of the world's largest airline alliance, Rousseau will lead two annual board meetings and act as the spokesperson for the board. He will guide the strategic direction of the Alliance, which includes 25 global member airlines.

Star Alliance CEO Theo Panagiotoulias congratulated Rousseau on his appointment. "I am delighted to welcome Michael Rousseau, one of the most seasoned CEOs on the board, as the new Chairperson and look forward to working closely with him as we bring the renewed vision of the Alliance to fruition," Panagiotoulias stated. He also extended gratitude to Scott Kirby for his leadership during his four-year term.
