American Airlines is set to resume its direct flights between Colorado Springs and Chicago O'Hare International Airport next summer. The route, which was suspended in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, will return on June 5, 2025. Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for Colorado Springs Airport, highlighted the importance of this service for the local community. Jordan Pack, American's Director of Domestic Network Planning, stated: "American is pleased to offer nonstop service from Colorado Springs to our Chicago O’Hare hub."
The airline has been adjusting its network with other changes as well. Service from Columbus International Airport in Ohio to Los Angeles will restart in March 2025. This move aims to take advantage of significant passenger numbers on connecting flights between these cities.
Additionally, American Airlines recently resumed service to La Romana in the Dominican Republic from Miami International Airport using its Airbus A319 aircraft. However, it has indefinitely canceled nonstop service between Miami and Port-au-Prince, Haiti due to a previous incident involving one of its planes.
