Holiday travel often presents challenges such as unpredictable weather, high demand, and crowded airports, leading to delays and cancellations. To assist travelers in navigating these issues, AirAdvisor has analyzed flight data and passenger feedback to rank U.S. airlines for the upcoming holiday season.

The analysis focused on on-time performance, cancellation rates, baggage mishandling, and overall customer satisfaction. The data was sourced from the U.S. Department of Transportation for November to January (2022–present) alongside consolidated customer reviews.

Alaska Airlines ranks tenth with an on-time performance of 71.15% but faces challenges with a 5.25% cancellation rate and 0.82% mishandled baggage rate. Its customer review score stands at 3.9 stars from 78,667 reviews.

Frontier Airlines is ninth, excelling in baggage handling with a mishandled baggage rate of 0.44%, though it has a lower customer review score of 2.39 stars from 75,912 reviews.

United Airlines takes eighth place with an on-time performance of 81.95%. However, its high cancellation rate of 6.15% affects its ranking despite having solid in-flight entertainment and friendly service.

Seventh-ranked Allegiant Air boasts the lowest baggage mishandling rate at 0.21%, but its punctuality lags behind other carriers.

Hawaiian Airlines is sixth due to a low cancellation rate of 1.60% and decent baggage handling despite slipping in punctuality rankings.

Spirit Airlines comes fifth with reliable timeliness and affordability but holds a customer review score of 2.62 stars reflecting trade-offs in service quality.

Southwest Airlines ranks fourth with a high customer satisfaction rating of 4.31 stars from 230,387 reviews but struggles with frequent cancellations during the holidays.

American Airlines is third with a low cancellation rate of just 0.67%, making it reliable for punctuality despite some baggage issues.

JetBlue Airways secures second place with strong customer-focused service reflected in its 4.12-star rating despite average punctuality.

Delta Air Lines tops the list due to excellent on-time performance at 83.02%, low cancellation rates at just 1%, and a high customer review score of 4.06 stars from over 265,000 reviews.
