dnata has announced the promotion of Jaffar Dawood to Divisional Senior Vice President for UAE Airport Operations. In this new role, Jaffar will oversee dnata’s ground handling operations at Dubai International and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International airports.

Jaffar's responsibilities include preparing dnata to leverage opportunities from future plans for DWC. He will collaborate with industry stakeholders to define future airport standards and manage innovative process implementations. His team consists of over 20,000 aviation professionals serving more than 170 airlines and over 90 million passengers annually.

Based in Dubai, Jaffar will report to Clive Sauve-Hopkins, CEO of dnata Airport Operations. Clive Sauve-Hopkins commented on the promotion: “Jaffar’s promotion reflects his commitment and dedication to innovation and service excellence. His experience and leadership will be of significant benefit as dnata implements the latest technologies to further enhance passenger experience at both Dubai airports."

He added that Jaffar would play a key role in ensuring quality services during dnata's transition to Al Maktoum International. "I wish Jaffar every success in his new role,” he said.

An experienced ground handling expert, Jaffar began his career with Emirates Group in 1992. He previously managed ramp and passenger operations across the Middle East and Africa as Senior Vice President, Airport Operations – UAE and MEA.

dnata is a trusted partner for over 300 airline customers, providing services across six continents. In the financial year 2023-24, dnata handled over 778,000 aircraft turns, moved more than 2.9 million tonnes of cargo, uplifted 123 million meals, and achieved a total transaction value of travel services amounting to US$ 2.4 billion.
