Bell Helicopter, a major player in the helicopter industry and owned by Textron Corporation, has produced several commercial helicopters over the years. Founded as Bell Aircraft Corporation in July 1935 by Lawrence Dale Bell in Buffalo, New York, the company initially focused on fighter aircraft production. However, a significant shift occurred in the 1940s when Arthur M. Young, a helicopter expert, was hired. This led to the creation of the Bell 30 and Bell 47 helicopters.

The Bell 47 became notable for being the first certified civilian-use helicopter worldwide. Introduced in 1946 and based on Young's design of the Bell 30, over 5,500 variants were produced until 1974. "The most-produced variant of the Bell 47 is the 47G," noted Airwolfhound from Wikimedia Commons.

In 1960, Textron acquired Bell Helicopter. The company became its largest business segment after successes like the UH-1 Huey during the Vietnam War. Although renowned for military helicopters such as the V-22 tiltrotor aircraft, Bell Helicopter has also made its mark with commercial models.

The Bell 204/205 series emerged as civilian versions of the UH-1 Iroquois and debuted in 1959. Originally designed for military utility purposes, they found commercial success due to their performance capabilities. "Overall, the first variant of this helicopter series was powered by a turboshaft engine," stated Alec Wilson from Wikimedia Commons.

The Bell 206 JetRanger began as a military project but transitioned into commercial use after redesigning to accommodate five passengers. Introduced officially in 1967 with more than 7,000 units produced until production ceased in 2017, it featured variants like LongRanger which could seat seven passengers.

To replace its predecessor models, Bell introduced the Bell 407 in 1995 with technology advancements from previous designs such as composite material rotor blades powered by Rolls-Royce/Allison engines providing substantial horsepower.

Lastly, launched in partnership with Korea Aerospace Industries was the Bell 429 GlobalRanger introduced in 2009 primarily aimed at emergency medical services (EMS). It boasts a large cabin and advanced rotor system powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada engines suitable for various uses including police forces and air medical teams.
