Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has become the first in India to implement an AI-powered digital twin system. This innovation, known as the Airport Predictive Operation Centre (APOC), aims to streamline operations by integrating airside, landside, and terminal functions into a cohesive unit. The system uses real-time data to optimize decision-making and minimize disruptions.
SGK Kishore, Executive Director South and Chief Innovation Officer at GMR Airports, stated that "GMR Group is leading the aviation industry with cutting-edge technological innovations, focusing on significantly enhancing passenger experiences." He added that their new AI-enabled platform "sets new standards in modernizing operations and elevating passenger satisfaction."
The APOC technology is set to be introduced at other airports managed by GMR Group across India. It promises improvements in several areas such as intelligent crowd management, flow and queue analytics, passenger experience analytics, real-time insights, and behavior analytics.
