Delta Air Lines has been recognized as the "Airline of the Year" by Global Traveler in its 21st Annual GT Tested Reader Survey Awards. The awards, decided by Global Traveler's advisory board and select staff members, evaluate airlines based on various criteria such as financial and operational performance, loading and boarding time, safety procedures, onboard menus, and brand image.

Global Traveler’s survey is highly respected within the luxury business travel sector and acknowledges significant achievements in transport, hospitality, and loyalty services. The winners were chosen by readers of Global Traveler.

In addition to being named Airline of the Year, Delta received several other accolades in the GT Tested Reader Survey Awards. These include Best Airline Website for Delta.com, Best Airline Lounges for Delta Sky Clubs, Best Airline for Domestic First Class, and Best Airline App for Fly Delta.

Dwight James, Senior Vice President — Customer Engagement & Loyalty for Delta Air Lines and CEO of Delta Vacations, stated: “We are proud that Delta’s commitment to elevated and premium service has been recognized by Global Traveler. Trust in our brand, operations and our products are what fuel our workforce of over 100,000 to keep climbing.”

Delta's recognition extends beyond this award. It is noted for its operational reliability and customer experience excellence by organizations like JD Power's title for the fourteenth consecutive year and Cirium for three years running.

The award selection process involved open-ended ballots distributed through Global Traveler magazine subscriptions online via direct mail and email from December 13, 2023 to August 31, 2024. Ballots with less than 50 percent completion were disqualified. An external accounting firm, Citrin Cooperman LLP, tabulated the results while employees of the magazine and travel industry members were excluded from participating.
