Launched in 2013 at the Paris Air Show, the Embraer E-Jet E2 family was intended to represent a significant step forward for the aircraft manufacturer. Despite its design and efficiency improvements, the aircraft has faced challenges in achieving commercial success. The E-Jet E2 is not yet ordered by any US regional airline due to weight restrictions that limit its operations.

Porter Airlines, a Canadian carrier, leads as the largest operator of the Embraer E195-E2 with 42 aircraft in its fleet and 33 more on order. This model supports Porter's long routes, such as those from Toronto Pearson International Airport to San Diego International Airport. The aircraft complements Porter's Dash 8-400 turboprop planes used for shorter routes.

Azul Brazilian Airlines follows with 21 E-Jet E2s and an additional 75 on order. The Brazilian low-cost carrier utilizes these jets to connect underserved destinations efficiently. Azul's configuration includes one more row than Porter’s setup, offering over 130 seats.

KLM Cityhopper operates 20 Embraer E195-E2s across Europe and beyond. The Dutch airline's regional subsidiary offers a business-class cabin alongside economy seating, with five more units on order and options for ten additional planes.

Swiss regional airline Helvetic Airways uses a mix of eight Embraer E190-E2s and four E195-E2s within its fleet of 12 aircraft. These jets replaced older Fokker models and serve various European and Northern African destinations.

Lastly, Binter Canarias operates 12 Embraer E195-E2s from the Canary Islands to Europe and Africa. Initially ordering eight jets, the airline expanded its fleet to support rapid network growth alongside ATR turboprop aircraft.
