The Cessna Citation Latitude, a super midsize business jet manufactured by Cessna and its parent company Textron Aviation, is recognized for its performance and cost-effectiveness. This nine-seater aircraft is typically used for short missions of up to three hours but can extend to six-hour flights.

Developed from the Cessna Citation Sovereign, the Latitude was first announced in 2011 as model 680A and took its maiden flight on February 18, 2014. It received Federal Aviation Administration certification in June 2015, with deliveries commencing in August of the same year. Over 400 units have been produced since then.

Operating costs for the Latitude vary based on usage. For an annual operation of 450 hours at a fuel price of $5.96 per gallon, fixed costs are $678,790 and variable costs are $1,817,496. This results in an annual budget of $2,496,286 or an hourly cost of $5,547.30. If chartering for an additional 200 hours annually is included, fixed costs rise to $738,966 while variable costs remain unchanged. The total budget increases to $2,556,462 annually or $5,681.03 per hour.

For those operating the jet for fewer hours annually—300 or even just 200—the cost structure adjusts accordingly. At 300 hours per year, fixed costs amount to $459,841 with variable expenses reaching $774,576; total operating expenses sum up to approximately $2.67 million annually.

The Cessna Citation Latitude's specifications include a maximum speed of 446 knots and a range of up to 2,700 nautical miles with four passengers onboard. Its cabin offers comfort features such as larger windows and advanced avionics like the Garmin G5000 suite.

The aircraft remains popular among midsize corporations in the U.S., particularly NetJets which operates a significant fleet of this model due to its high performance and competitive operating costs.
