Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) reported a record number of over 3,237,000 passengers in 2023. Situated two miles east of downtown Palm Springs, the airport connects to various destinations across the US and Canada, particularly bustling during winter months.

Most routes from PSP are short distances to cities like Seattle, San Francisco, and Denver. However, three routes exceed 2,000 miles: Toronto, Washington D.C., and New York.

The Palm Springs-Toronto route covers 2,085 miles. Air Canada Rouge operates the majority of flights with its Airbus A320 aircraft. "Expanding into more destinations in Southern California is part of our commitment to provide more options to our passengers," said Edmond Eldebs of Porter Airlines.

United Airlines launched a new service between Palm Springs and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), covering 2,188 miles. "This service will be the first connection ever between Washington, DC and Palm Springs," stated Patrick Quayle from United Airlines.

The longest route from PSP is to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), at 2,378 miles. Delta Air Lines uses its Airbus A220-300s for this route. "We are looking forward to Delta expanding their services from Palm Springs," commented Harry Barrett Jr., Executive Director at PSP.

Southwest Airlines holds the largest market share at PSP with 22.4%, followed by SkyWest Airlines and American Airlines. Frontier Airlines returned to PSP in December 2024 with flights to San Francisco and Denver.

In addition to passenger growth, PSP received a $6 million grant from the FAA for upgrading its baggage handling system as part of the Airport Terminals Program. "This funding is vital to our mission to deliver a smooth and efficient travel experience for our guests," remarked Harry Barrett Jr.
