Delta Air Lines is set to reinstate its seasonal daily flight service between Rio de Janeiro and New York City. The flights will run from December 20, 2024, through March 27, 2025, using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with a capacity of 215 passengers. This route aims to enhance cultural exchanges and strengthen economic ties between Brazil and the United States.

The airline offers various seating options on this route. Delta One features 25 seats that convert into beds, complete with Grown Alchemist skincare products. Passengers can pre-select meals via the Fly Delta app. Delta Premium Select provides wider seats with more recline than the Main Cabin, including artisan-made amenity kits by Someone Somewhere. Delta Comfort+ offers dedicated overhead bin space in the main cabin, while Main Cabin seats come equipped with individual entertainment screens.

Ricardo de Oliveira, Delta's Regional Sales Manager in Brazil, stated, "The return of the Rio de Janeiro (GIG)–New York (JFK) route is crucial for Delta and our customers in both countries." He added that the resumption coincides with high travel demand during the Southern Hemisphere’s summer.

Delta's partnership with LATAM further strengthens its market presence by offering three daily flights to New York City from Brazil, including departures from São Paulo. "In two years of operation, we have already operated more than 11,000 flights together," Oliveira noted.

In addition to this route's return, the Rio de Janeiro-Atlanta flight will become a daily service from December 19 until March 31, 2025. This route will be serviced by an A330-300 aircraft with a larger passenger capacity.

Meanwhile, travelers flying from São Paulo to Atlanta can now experience flights on the Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. This model includes exclusive Delta One Suites featuring private doors at each seat and a selection of complimentary amenities.

Delta emphasizes Atlanta as a practical gateway for Brazilian travelers due to its extensive network connecting São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to numerous destinations worldwide. By summer 2025, nearly 1,000 Delta flights will operate out of Atlanta weekly.
