Cebu Pacific recently celebrated a significant milestone by transporting its 250 millionth passenger. The milestone was reached on a flight from Singapore to Manila, where the lucky passenger received a cash prize and free tickets for future travel. This achievement marks an important step in the airline's growth, which has picked up after being affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The flight in question, Cebu Pacific flight 5J814 from Singapore Changi Airport to Ninoy Aquino International in Manila, took place on December 11th. It was notable not only for its routine route but also for carrying the airline's 250 millionth passenger. According to Great Travel Philippines, this passenger was Russel Capaniarihan, an overseas worker returning home for the holidays. Xander Lao, President and CCO of Cebu Pacific, commented: "This 250 million passenger milestone is a testament to the trust and loyalty of every Juan who has chosen to fly with us."

Celebrations marked both ends of the journey. At Singapore Changi Airport, passengers were greeted with a photo wall highlighting the milestone. Onboard, games were held with prizes such as free tickets. Upon arrival in Manila, Russel Capaniarihan was welcomed by local representatives. Candice Iyog, Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer at Cebu Pacific, stated: "Today, we flew our 250 millionth passenger... She’s spending Christmas with her family for the first time in 11 years and we’re so happy to be part of her homecoming story."

Capaniarihan received 25 free round trips and a cash prize worth approximately $4,238.76 as recognition for being the airline's milestone passenger.

2024 has been eventful for Cebu Pacific beyond this achievement. The airline placed an order for 70 Airbus A321neo jets and celebrated its 10th anniversary of flights to Sydney while expanding services to Melbourne. There is potential that this year could surpass their busiest year in terms of passenger traffic if current trends continue.
