Orlando International expands Canadian connections with Flair Airlines' new routes

Florida's Orlando International Airport has marked a significant development in its flight offerings with the arrival of the first direct flight from Toronto, operated by Flair Airlines. The Canadian airline is set to expand its services to include four destinations across Canada from Orlando by the end of this year.

Flair Airlines, which was recently recognized as Canada's most reliable carrier, began operations in Orlando with flights from Kitchener-Waterloo in late October. The popularity of this route has prompted the addition of new Boeing 737-800 services.

Eric Tanner, Vice President of Network Planning & Revenue Management at Flair Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded network: “For Canadians dreaming of an escape to the sun, or for Floridians hoping to explore Canada’s winter magic, Flair provides unbeatable value. We’re excited to offer these direct, reliable routes at a time when travel between Orlando and Canada is most meaningful.”

The inaugural flight from Toronto Pearson took off slightly behind schedule but managed to land on time in Orlando. According to Flair Airlines, this route is "especially exciting" as it offers convenient access for travelers between Toronto and Orlando.

Kevin J. Thibault, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, highlighted the benefits of these new routes: "With direct flights from both major cities and regional hubs, Canadians and Floridians now have easier, affordable access to explore and experience new adventures."

Flair will face no direct competition on three out of four new routes. However, it will enter a competitive market for flights between Orlando and Toronto alongside Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter Airlines.

Casandra Matej, President and CEO of Visit Orlando welcomed the addition: “The new direct flights from Toronto Pearson, London and Saint John...are making it even easier for Canadians to travel to the theme park capital of the world.”

Saint John Airport Manager Lori Carle shared local excitement over resuming international service: “Last winter's enthusiastic response showcased the value of this service.”

To ensure customer satisfaction amid potential delays during peak travel seasons such as winter escapes or holiday visits back home—particularly important given increased demand during these periods—Flair has introduced an On-Time Guarantee program offering automatic compensation for delayed flights exceeding one hour.
