Flair Airlines has launched a new route connecting Toronto and Orlando, marking its second link to the Florida destination. The Canadian low-cost airline will operate 11 weekly flights between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) until late April 2025. Additional routes from London and Saint John are set to begin soon.

The inaugural flight from Toronto took off on December 16th at 07:23, arriving in Orlando at 09:46. This morning service is one of two daily flights on peak days, with the other scheduled for an evening arrival at 23:15. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the occasion, featuring an appearance by the 'Flairy Godmother.'

Eric Tanner, VP of Network Planning & Revenue Management at Flair Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the new service: "For Canadians dreaming of an escape to the sun, or for Floridians hoping to explore Canada’s winter magic, Flair provides unbeatable value."

The airline's fleet for this route includes Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft, both configured in all-economy seating for up to 189 passengers. On peak days, two daily flights will be available with departures from Toronto at 07:10 and 20:15 and returns from Orlando at 10:55 and 16:30.

One-way fares start at C$36 ($25). The timing coincides with high demand for travel to sunny destinations like Orlando during Canada's winter months. The city is renowned as a hub for theme parks such as Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort.

Flair previously initiated service to Orlando from Kitchener-Waterloo in October with three weekly flights. Upcoming routes include London starting December 20th and Saint John beginning December 22nd.

Casandra Matej, president and CEO of Visit Orlando, noted the impact of these new connections: "The new direct flights from Toronto Pearson, London and Saint John...are making it even easier for Canadians to travel to the theme park capital of the world."

While Flair is unique in offering services from Kitchener-Waterloo, London, and Saint John to Orlando without competition, it faces rivals Air Canada, Porter Airlines, and WestJet on its Toronto-Orlando route.

In related news, Flair Airlines has introduced Canada's only On-Time Guarantee (OTG), promising compensation for delays exceeding one hour or cancellations within three days of departure. The airline reports a completion rate of 99.6% last month.
