Delta Air Lines is preparing for a busy winter holiday travel season, expecting to serve 9.3 million customers on over 75,000 flights from December 20 to January 6. The airline's Operations and Customer Center, which includes experts from 36 departments, is focused on ensuring smooth operations during this period.

The Fly Delta app now offers enhanced features for travelers. Customers can track their checked bags in real-time using the app or Apple’s new Share Item Location feature. This feature allows passengers to share the location of an AirTag or Find My network accessory with Delta customer service, facilitating quicker reunions with delayed or mishandled luggage.

Delta has also introduced Digital ID at several major airports including Atlanta (ATL), Washington D.C. (DCA), Detroit (DTW), New York (JFK and LGA), Los Angeles (LAX), and Salt Lake City (SLC). Developed in collaboration with TSA, this biometric facial matching technology streamlines airport navigation by eliminating the need for physical ID checks.

For the winter season, Delta is expanding its route offerings. The airline will provide its largest-ever holiday schedule to Latin America with additional weekly flights and increased seating capacity. New routes include expanded services from Atlanta to Santiago and Buenos Aires, as well as new flights to Tulum from Atlanta and Minneapolis.

In addition to Latin American destinations, Delta has launched new routes to London, Amsterdam, and Brisbane. For ski enthusiasts, the airline offers nonstop flights from Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and Minneapolis-St. Paul to popular ski destinations such as Jackson Hole and Sun Valley starting December 21.
