FedEx has announced the expansion of its air network to enhance connectivity between Asia Pacific, India, and Europe. The new routes aim to provide more flexible and efficient operations in key trade lanes across the Asia-Pacific region.

The newly introduced route will operate five times a week, starting from Guangzhou, China, passing through Bangalore in India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), before reaching Liège and Paris in Europe. This enhancement is expected to reduce logistics transit time by one day during the peak holiday season, enabling next-day delivery to South India. This development could benefit South India's advanced technology and automotive industries. Additionally, it aims to improve stability and reliability for import-export logistics between India and Europe.

A recent FedEx survey indicated that Asia-Pacific businesses anticipate increased sales this holiday season compared to last year. This highlights the necessity of the new air routes. For fiscal year 2024, China remains India's largest trading partner with a trade volume of $118.4 billion. Of this, $101.7 billion accounts for imports from China while exports stand at $118.4 billion. The Asia-Europe trade route is among the busiest globally, with China playing a significant role in exporting machinery, electronics, and high-tech products.
