TAP Air Portugal is set to resume its flights to Porto Alegre, Brazil, after a temporary suspension due to severe flooding earlier this year. The Portuguese airline announced that it will restart operations on April 1st next year, with flights departing from Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport three times a week. The Airbus A330-900 aircraft will be used for this route.

Flights will leave Lisbon on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 13:05 and arrive in Porto Alegre at 20:25 local time. After a brief turnaround of 90 minutes, the return flight will depart at 21:55 and reach Lisbon the following day at 12:45. TAP Air Portugal has already begun selling tickets for these flights on its website, with return fares starting at €699 ($733.38), including taxes.

Earlier this year, Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre was closed due to severe flooding in May, which led to aircraft being submerged by water. During the closure, some routes were temporarily served from Canoas Air Force Base until operations began returning to normal in October. TAP Air Portugal expressed satisfaction with the reopening of Porto Alegre airport and reaffirmed its commitment to resuming direct flights between Brazil's southernmost capital and Europe.
