FedEx has announced the launch of a new air route to strengthen connections between China and markets in India and Europe. The new route will enhance service flexibility and efficiency for Chinese customers on key trade corridors within Asia and Europe.

The new flights will operate five times a week, departing from FedEx's Asia-Pacific hub in Guangzhou, with stops in Bangalore, India, and the UAE before reaching Liège and Paris in Europe. This route is expected to provide more flexible services during peak holiday shipping periods, reducing transit time by one day for next-day delivery to southern India. It aims to benefit the high-tech and automotive industries while supporting Chinese businesses with stable import-export services to India and Europe.

China ranks first in contributing to global export growth. In the first 11 months of 2024, China's total goods trade value reached 39.79 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year. The Asia-Europe corridor remains one of the world's busiest trade routes, with China leading in exports of machinery, electronics, and high-tech products.

To meet the growing freight demand in Asia, FedEx has upgraded its export services from China to Jakarta, Indonesia, and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. These upgrades reduce delivery times by one day and 2.5 hours respectively. This enhancement aims to help Chinese businesses improve efficiency and flexibility while fostering regional growth potential and promoting economic integration in Asia.

Additionally, FedEx has optimized customs clearance processes for formal entry shipments (D-type exports) through Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This optimization reduces transit time by one day for shipments from South China to Asia and Europe. Combined with the new routes and service upgrades, this initiative aims to further enhance freight efficiency for customers in South China amid rapidly changing international markets.

"China's foreign trade is booming at present," said Eddy Chan, Senior Vice President of FedEx Express and President of FedEx China. "Asia and Europe are important markets within this context. To facilitate sustainable growth, a resilient global logistics network is indispensable—especially when facing challenges like peak holiday shipping seasons." He added that through strengthening its air transport network construction and service upgrades, FedEx provides innovative logistical solutions connecting China seamlessly with global markets.

In addition to improving connectivity, FedEx continues developing digital solutions to assist clients entering global markets. For example, FedEx Ship Manager supports small businesses and e-commerce sellers in managing their shipments online; meanwhile, FedEx Ship Manager Lite allows customers convenient shipment arrangements via mobile devices. Furthermore, using machine learning technology helps provide a four-hour delivery window for upcoming shipments to enhance customer experience.

FedEx also invests continuously in technology infrastructure supporting companies across the Asia-Pacific region as they gain competitive advantages within global manufacturing sectors worldwide.
